Iron or magnesium deficiencies are a prime cause of thyroid problems. Sometimes they can cause bodily functions to go so low that it effects cognitive thinking. Also stress and genetics can play a major role. Stress is the one thing you can effectively control. Instead of increasing iron and magnesium, concentrate on limiting iron and magnesium robbers.
