The three major factors are genetic, anatomical, and the mother's health conditions. Genetic conditions such as Friedrich's Ataxia and glycogen storage disease can cause increased heart size. Anatomical issues such as a PDA can increase the size of the heart. Anything that increases blood volume in mom can cause enlargement.

Atrial enlargement is usually something that is caused by genetics or something that a child is born with. Your doctor will be able to tell you for sure.

enlargement of atries in children could be congenital or it could be even hereditary contribution. only surgical option will give remedy for this.
