Zeus slept with a mortal who became pregnant. He did not want the child to be born so he swallowed the mother whole. Some time later, he felt a pounding in his head. The pain was so agonizing, another god took a tool to split Zeus' head open to relieve the pounding. Athena spring out clothed fully in armor.
