Goldfish are the easiest fish to keep, requiring only a clean, freshwater tank. They are generally mild-tempered and get along well with most other fish. Goldfish tend to grow proportionally to the size of their tank and in proportion with the other fish they live with, so if you don't want a large goldfish, keep them in a small tank.

A single goldfish requires at least a twenty gallon tank. They enjoy cool water, also. They can be quite messy. You should do a 25% water change every week.

A well cared for goldfish can live for over 10 years and grow more than 6 inches long. Feed twice a day and maintain good water quality using test kits.

The aquarium must be kept clean using a filter. You must have air continuously running through the water. The water temperature should not be ice cold or too hot, and you should use something to take out the chlorine in the water. Also, if goldfish are kept in large aquariums, they will grow larger.

Goldfish need a bare minimum of 10 gallons per fish! They require the same amount of space as, if not more than, other fish. Bowls will kill your fish, guaranteed!

Goldfish require a lot of aeration in their tank as well as a very good filter since they produce large amounts of ammonia.
