What can you do to prepare yourself for seeing the brutal reality of patriarchy paralyzes women?

Can you tell me what to expect about being paralyzed?

My good friend had ALS and had to cope with the fact that she was slowing being paralyzed. It won't be easy emotionally so it is important that you have a good support system. Friends, family and even church will be very helpful. Allow these people to help you as much as they can.

The idea of being paralyzed when being oppressed comes from the idea of "powerlessness. " If you look at history, you find examples of oppressed people taking effective action on their own behalf. The Civil Rights Movement is an example. It is likely you will see this rather than experience paralysis.
