The word "nod" means wandering and this is where Adam's son Cain ran away to after he had killed his brother Abel. It means a far away or fantasy place.

I would just talk about how the Land of Nod was located outside of Eden and that is where Cain went after he killed Abel. In Hebrew the word nod means to wander so you could talk about how Cain wandered from the path of righteousness and in Genesis 4:16 he was cursed to wander forever.

The land of Nod is described as being "east of Eden" but more accurately it described a state of wandering around rather than a specific place, being rootless and unsettled. To have no fixed place is not seen as a good thing in most cultures, much like being homeless, or being a refugee.

well first tell the story behind it and then try to explain it's significance in modern terminology. try to locate it's present geographical location and create a picture of how the biblical events must have shaped back then with today's co-relation

God sent Cain, after he murdered Abel, to the Land of Nod, east of Eden. Cain's life there would be hard and nomadic as a consequence of sin.

There is no such place as the land of nod and no Bible Study for any faith should be teaching about such a place! It is important that Bible Study be factual and based on true teaching about God and not on fantasy. Teenagers need truth, not fairy tales.

How the bible refers to dead people as if they were "sleeping" in death (1 Thessalonians 4:13,14) as to God, death is a temporary state.

The mythical Land of Nod is literal sleepy little town. Perhaps you could tie the idea of nodding off to the reality that we must be awake to God's call.

The term nod means to wander, it is also used for people who are on drugs. You can describe as a place where Cain went to live after killing his brother and not a place you want to wander in.
