It is probably best to let him go and move on. Obviously if he went back to his old girlfriend he is still in love with her. That relationships is not over yet. You need to find someone new who will give their love to only you. You deserve nothing less in life.

firstly, is he worth it? if yes, then proceed to be there when he needs help but don't let him make use of you.
