If the cd drive doesn't read and audio cd you first need to try cleaning the cd off, it could just be dirty. While cleaning it off also check for scratches because this will cause it to be unreadable. There's always the possibility your cd drive doesn't support the type of audio cd you are using.

If your CD Drive will read ANY other disc EXCEPT an audio cd, then it is most likely not your disc drive and is most likely a software error. Restart the computer.

There are two possibilities, 1- the cd is broken or destroyed by someone else. Create a new CD 2- Your driver is broken. Change it

If your CD drive does not read audio you will most likely need to purchase another, more modern, CD drive; audio reading capabilities are fairly standard, and old drives won't have that. If you're having issues with a CD, try another music CD instead!
