What can I do if my Beta jumps out of her tank?

My beta keeps jumping out of the tank.

You should check your water quality. Fish don't normally jump out of the tank unless there is a pollutant in the water or another fish is attacking it. You can buy a water test kit at any pet store.

I would suggest finding a mesh style cover for your tank. The mesh will allow movement of oxygen into the tank while preventing the escape of your fish. If a cover cannot be found to fit use a piece of flyscreen cut to fit.

We have had beta's and they definitely will jump out of the tank. The most important step to take is to seal off holes in the cover on your tank that are big enough for the beta to jump through. You can get plastic that snaps onto the edge of the tank at a fish store to cover holes.
