Try a cool-mist humidifier or vaporizer in the bedroom to help relieve congestion. You can also try standing in the bathroom with your baby while running a very hot shower, the steam is helpful to relieve congestion and coughing. If he/she has a fever of 101 or higher, call your doctor right away.

If a newborn is fussy, try to soothe them and make them comfortable by talking softly, keeping them warm and snuggly, as well as keeping their airways open.

You should have your infant checked up, and your doctor will then prescribe medicine for your infant. In the mean time you should monitor the temperature. If your infant's temperature goes above 39. 0Âșc. you should give the infant a sponge bath to lower down her/his temperature
