You need to watch your puppy. Usually you can tell when he is looking for a place to go potty. When he needs to go, take him outside.

Confine the puppy to a small area inside the house, and take outside to pee, it will not want to pee in the same area that it sleeps.

The one thing you have to be is consistent. Crate training is needed don't allow puppy freedom to roam, this will reduce accidents. Take out 10 minutes after eating food and drinking. Allow puppy time take him to potty after playing. Also limit roaming area to smaller space.

A puppy needs to pee at least once an hour. Best thing to dowhen it starts sniffing around, bring it outside and tell it to potty. once finished bring it back inside. don't mingle outside as a puppy won't associate being outside with needing to go potty.

Buy some puppy pads and teach him to go on those. Once they are doing that on a regular basis,Start putting the pads out side. Soon they will be asking you to let them out and no more messy clean ups inside for you.

Do you crate your dog? A puppy should be taken out every two hours believe it out not. As they get older the time can span longer.
