What can I do about lightning damage to my home?

1) If your family is ok and safe, go to step 2. 2) If your gut is telling you that it's not safe, do not enter. 3) Call the insurance company's toll-free number to file your claim. 4) Stay tuned for weather alerts, and stay indoors at friend/neighbors house.

If you have homeowners insurance, it should cover it, although your policy will determine coverage. Contact your insurer for more information.

To prevent lighting damage you have to put up a lightening conductor, damage already made by lightning to your home is termed as act of god in insurance terms and you can claim insurance for the damages
