When the lights flicker you can do a few things. first of all make sure that everything is ok with your car. No oil lights on or toher lights, etc. Next find out why they are flickering. Maybe it is caused by a faulty fuse or the switch might be stuck. These are things that should be checked out.

It sounds like you have a loose connection or a broken wire somewhere in the dash lighting system. Check all the under dash wiring for problems. If you can't find anything wrong you may want to check your charging system to make sure it is working properly.

More than likely it is either your alternator or battery needs to be replaced. Your alternator is the first place I would look, because it sounds like it is not producing enough voltage.

Lights on a panel flicker because of a short. There are many "fix it" techniques but it requires a series of unusual commands such as turning the fan on blast and holding down buttons. Your best bet is to take it to a local auto shop. They can fix the problem in a hurry and it wont cost you much.

It's usually one of two things: 1. The cluster is bad, and needs to be replaced. 2. The alternator is not working correctly, have it checked in a shop.
