It's a simple procedure, but it's best to be performed in the ear doctor's office. You can put glycerol in the ear canal, and after that clean the ear.

If you mean the "plugged" feeling, swallowing or yawning may help. If your ear is literally plugged, say from hard wax the ear canal should be flushed with a warm solution. These can typically be purchased OTC at most pharmacies or your family doctor can do this.

Normally a plugged ear is caused by cold or an allergy. You may not be able to hear sounds clearly and even feel pain in the ears. It is a temporary situation and not a much serious matter. But if the symptoms are continuing, it is better to consult your doctor immediately.
