The dog may either have a vaginal infection or may be going into heat. To be absolutely safe and know the dog is in good health she should be taken to the vet so she can be checked and possibly be prescribed antibiotics or be spayed. The dog must have been in heat at least once before spaying.

Where is this discharge coming from? Yellow discharge is not normal for any breed, this could signify an infection in the affected area. You should take her to your vet to be treated with the proper medication. If this goes untreated you could be dealing with a much bigger problem.

There are several different disease and infections that can result in yellow discharge. You do not say where the discharge is coming from, but in any case you should seek the help of a veterinarian immediately.

If the Great Dane isn't spayed she could have pyometra, an infected uterus. This is serious and needs to be treated by a vet. The best way to treat a pyometra is to spay the dog, but valuable breeding dogs can be treated medically with antibiotics.
