Question by  oldmom (716)

What arithmetic sequence is formed by the angles of a pentagon?

+7

Answer by  therealscl (59)

There are 540 interior degrees in a pentagon. For example, triangle (3 sides) has 180 degrees, Rectangles (4 sides) has 360 degrees, and a Pentagon (5 sides) has 540 degrees. In each case, the difference is 180 degrees. If n is the number of sides, then angles=(n-2)*180 degrees

Since the inner angles of any geometric shape must be in the form of (n-2)x180, then a pentagon's angles of all 5 sides should have a total of 540 degree. So if all sides are equal in size, a pentagon's any angle is 108 degree.
