What are ways that I can facilitate bonding with a pet Cockatoo, the bird?

I have a new pet Cockatoo and would like to bond with him, how can I do this?

Bonding as opposed to training, can be facilitated by simple association in some cases. Spending time with the bird will make them become used to your presence.

Cockatoo's are VERY affectionate, pet him, talk calmly and move slowly. Build trust that he wont be hurt/scared by you. Offer favorite treats too! Just takes Time!

Spend as much time with your new bird as possible. Cockatoos require at least an hour out of their cage a day. You can also make "bird bread" as treats.

Hang out in the same room with him, or take him with you around the house and interact with him. He'll start to think of you as his friend.

just generally be frendly with him this will be alot easier if you have him from a young age and talk to him often in a nice voice.

keep it with you and talk to it, and bond with it play with it and take it in every room in the house and talk and play with it
