What are the uses for percocet?

I have an old rx for percocet and am unsure what it was for.

Percocet is a pain medication. Depending on the dosage it can be given for very sever pain. It may have been prescribed after a surgery or some type of injury.

Percocet is the brand name for various formulations of oxycodone (opioid analgesic) and acetaminophen (commonly known as Tylenol), the most common being 5 mg oxycodone with 325 mg of acetaminophen. It used primarily in acute severe pain management and is a controlled substance. In the United States, it is a Schedule II drug.
