First theres the field line up. Then, there is a photographic line up. Then there is the live line up.

There is the in-field show-up, where the witness views suspects while out in the field. Another is the photographic line-up, in which the witness is shown an array of photos, and one of the photos is the suspect. The third is the live line up, where the witness sees 6 people, one is the suspect, behind a one-way mirror.

The in-field line-up is when it's done in a public setting. A photographic line-up is when a series of pictures with similar looking persons is presented to someone to look at. The live line-up is when a suspect is mixed with five others and the victim chooses the suspect.
