Create a business plan. Use a template as a guide to considerations of capital, equipment/inventory, taxes/insurance, and everything else involved. 92% of failed businesses do not have business plans.

Get a license from the state. This may require some classes in CPR. Your house will be inspected and you will be told how many children can be in your care. You should have cribs for each child or cots for older children. General eating area, play area, and make sure you know all safety tips. You must have exits.

1. You need a license from your state and your local municipality. Get all the paperwork now. 2. You need the Hepatitis C vaccine and a Tuberculosis test to prove you are safe and healthy. 3. Get appropriate insurance to cover the business. 4. Have a taxpayer ID number for the business. 5. Get CPR certified.
