Internal hemorrhoids form on the inside of the anus. You will have anal itching, throbbing ache and pain in the area. You will most likely have blood stain in stools.

Internal hemorrhoids can cause blood to appear in stool-either as the bright red liquid we are accustomed to seeing or a a dry, black tarry substance present in the stool itself. They may cause anal discomfort or a feeling of "fullness" or a feeling that you have not completed a bowel movement.

Internal hemorrhoids are varicose veins inside the rectal area just above the anal opening. Blood in the stool or in the toilet on defecation is often one of the first signs seen by the average person. This blood is bright red. Blood not from this but from further up the tract would be brown or black and partly digested.
