What are the signs you have an STD?

I am hearing rumors about a woman I used to see.

The only way to know for sure if you have a std is to be tested by a doctor. Either by blood test or cultures. If someone is having sores or blisters I would go straight to the doctor. Some other signs are discharge and pain, sometimes even in your lower back.

Please go get tested. Symptoms vary depending on which STD you have, and sometimes you can be a carrier (with no symptoms) and still give the STD to your next sexual partner. Playing guessing games, looking for bumps isn't going to do much good. For everyone's safety, just go get an STD test.

It would highly depend on the type of disease that is transmitted to you. But most likely, you will experience a hot burning sensation or pain in your genitalia. In some cases, you can also feel a major itch accompanied with growth of lesions surrounding your penis or vaginal orifice.

If you have concerns most community health centers offer free exams, this is important to get being not all std's show symptoms immediately!! BUT, even if you are not showing you can still transmit them! Don't wait, it is a bit embarrassing, but you will feel better after. Other than that, look for any abnormal discharges.
