The best filters will come directly from the manufacturer as the design specs are often built with the manufacturer filter in mind.

Kohler engines have there own oil filters. The filter is based on the model of the engine. The best way to get the filter is take the model number of engine to a small engine shop and get the correct filter for the unit. Replacing with the wrong filter may damage your mower.

We recommend that you use only Kohler filters available from your local dealer. In an emergency, you can go to any small engine distributor or dealer for recommendations.
