A properly installed vapor barrier makes a hell of a difference in the long run and in winters and in humid conditions. It's terrible when your home develops water damage and you could have prevented it with the right vapor barrier!

Vapor barriers need very careful installation! Always get a pro to do it taking care on which side it should face and which part of the house it needs to be in. A poorly installed barrier will cause abnormal moisture, condensation and dampness and will wreck your home and aesthetics.

  • I get so confused with such a wide variety of materials available. i finally asked a pro to choose for me and so far the vapor barriers haven't given me any problems. I don't think i am tech enough to choose the right vapor barrier myself!

My home does not have a vapor barrier and I really haven't faced much problems. I live in a fairly dry- weather area though. So it could be different for you if you're in a more humid place.
