What are the pros and cons of stem cell research?

Pros: Stems cells taken from either an adult, umbilical cord, or embryonic cells can be introduced and repair and help re-grow healthy tissue. The cons, extracting adult stem cells can be painful and damaging to bone, umbilical cord doesn't match perfectly, and embryonic has the debate about unborn life.

Problems with stem cells considers usually ethical issues, especially when they origing from human lines, however they might reveal sofar unknown mechanisms of cell differentiation. I think that the greatest promises correspond to ptential application in neurobiology and in recovery of the nerve cells.

Pros - include the ability to research possible cures to many serious illnesses that have no other cures - illnesses such as motor neurone disease, cancers and other genetic illnesses have their best chance for treatment in stem cell research. Cons - the negative attitudes perpetuated by conservatives

to me a big con is that it is seen as murder because they come from human fetus. Pro, these cells can help lots of people who are very sick

Fetal stem cell research has moral concerns for the destruction of a potential life for the lower potential of helping save an adult. It also raises the worry of creating embryos (life) only to destroy it.
