What are the pros and cons of genetically engineered foods?

The pros to genetically engineered foods are that it cost less to make them, and they last longer. Where as an apple can be shipped to a different state and not become rotten. With it genetically engineered, it will still stay ripe. The cons are that they are not fully healthy to eat.

Pros are that the food grows faster and perfectly. Cons are that it is no longer naturally grown changing its genetic make up is an unknown variable to your health.
