Dance is a sport. Some people differ but it is. So try convincing your mom that if you take dance it is like

Dance is a way of expressing who you are on the inside. Your personality will come out when your dancing to a song for the genre of dance that you want to take. Just let your mom know that this is something your interested in.
The pros definitively outweigh the cons. Some professional sport stars are known to take ballet because to dance requires a lot of strength and agility. It is also a fantastic way to shed a few pounds if you need to or keep yourself firm. Though, you might break a leg... I think the fun is worth it.
Dance is a form of self expression. If you can prove to your mom that you can dance and still do everything else well like school and stuff she'd probably be more willing. It wouldn't hurt to be a total suck up either. :p

if you do ballet and jazz you have to streach and get warm, if you dont you might pull a muscleand cause yourself to get an injury. you can get paid alotta money to dance.
The biggest con of dance is if you take it too fast you could get an injury that could cause major problems. The pros overwhelm that however. It's a good overall exercise that helps keep you fit and healthy. It's also very fun and you will meet a ton of new people there.
