Your ex-husband must complete the fairly simple Quit Claim paperwork and have it notarized. You then file it with the County Recorder at the courthouse or wherever deeds are recorded in your county.

You can get the form at any notary or the clerk of court . However the tricky part is getting your husband to agree. You need his permission to proceed.

You can print out a quit claim deed online or get one at an office supply store that sells standard legal documents. Your ex-husband must sign the document and have it notarized. You then file it with the courts to remove his name from the deed. By signing, your ex says that he has no interest in the property.

Your ex-husband must sign the quitclaim deed to relinquish his rights to the property. This should have been part of the divorce proceedings. Check with your divorce attorney first. You will need a legal description of the property as well as your state's quitclaim form. The public library has information and details on this process.

Well, you can actually just go to a lawyer and they can have this done for you as quick as possible. Otherwise just go to city hall and talk to them about removing the deed.
