What are the prerequisites for obtaining a doctorate of psychiatry?

I have an interest in pursuing a doctorate degree in psychiatry but have no idea what to expect out of colllege.

Psychiatry involves getting a medical degree and specialization (B. A. , then med school and psychiatric training)--typically it's not a Ph. D. (doctoral) program. Psychology involves bachelor, masters, and Ph. D. (doctoral program).

You will need to get a BA and probably an MA first, then you'll pass the GRE, the GRE subject, then tests, dissertation, and exams.
