Battery Park is a beautiful park on the riverfront. It's also where one can take a ferry to the Statue of Liberty. Times Square is always a favorite of first time visitors. Try lining up at the TKTS booth in Times Square to get discounted tickets for a Broadway show.

Depends on your interest. I want to go for the museums, especially the Guggenheim and the Museum of Modern Art.

Well if you are going for the first time, then you must go to Times Square. That is the best experience that you will have and go at night. That is when there is a huge crowd of people and entertainment as well. Then go to Central Park, Staten Island Ferry and see the statue of liberty.

You should see: Ellis Island; the statue of liberty; a broadway play or two; times square; ground zero; the empire state building; other landmarks that interest you. You should also make sure that you have some genuine new york pizza - you can't find pizza like it anywhere else in the US.
