What are the lowest murder rates by country?

That is, which countries have the lowest murder rates?

Figures obviously change, but countries that have maintained some of the lowest murder rates (i. e. , intentional homicide rates) include Japan, Qatar, Denmark, and Germany. Japan, for example, very roughly has one murder per 200,000 people.

And just for comparison, high murder rate countries have around 100 or 120 murders per 200,000 people. Jamaica, Venezuela and Russia are countries that often have high murder rates.  add a comment

Some of the countries with very low murder rates are Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Canada, Morrocco, Monaco, Belgium and Austria

I have never looked at the murder rates for countries outside of the United States. But it is an interesting list of countries with low murder rates. Senegal and Singapore are the lowest in the world. Japan and Hong Kong are next on the list followed by Brunei, Morocco, Lebanon, and Oman.
