I believe that only the male has the hanging on the neck. But not all goats have them. Do not remember shearing one with a hanging thing on neck.

mostgoats have them. just like humans have the loose skin on their necks so do goats. the goats loose skin is something thats very natural a nd there is nothing to worry about. if you see a goat with loose skin he is most likely healthier than one without the loose skin.

The hanging things on a goat's neck is called wattles. These wattles actually serve no purpose; some have one and some have two. Many refer to it as a goat's "jewels". Since there is no purpose for them, some goats don't have wattles. Just like people, goats are different and have different things attached to their bodies.

We have a goat that is 1/2 bore and 1/2 lamancha and she has 2 wattles. I think they are cute. We have 3 others the same breed without.
