First, the quarterback and receiver must be on the same page. When a receiver's pattern requires him to cut, many times the quarterback must throw the ball before the cut actually occurs. The quarterback needs to know exactly the receiver will be, so an understanding by both players of the routes are essential. Receivers must also make hard cuts

Receivers have to be smooth and consistant off the line, no matter what route they are running. They must break or cut quickly without telegraphing their intended change of direction.

The key to a successful passing game is precision. It's great to be a speed demon, but if the quarterback doesn't know where his receiver will be when he throws, it doesn't matter how fast the receiver gets there. Precision comes from practice. The successful quarterback to receiver combination will run over 100 pass plays a day. Practice, Practice, Practice!

Make sure you run them with precision and speed, and that you are consistent in your patterns with the play.
