In this situation, the hCG levels will continue to double in the first few weeks as the women's body respponds as if it were pregnant. These levels will double for a short while, and then steadily decline in number. This is the first clue that a woman is experiencing a blighted ovum.

Usually, hCG levels are at least over 1300 for this condition. The levels generally rise above your normal number and then slowly decrease back down.

Every woman's HCG levels are different, and the real measure of a level depends on your baseline. In cases with a blighted ovum, HCG levels will continue to rise, sometimes even double like a viable pregnancy. However, after some time, the HCG levels will plateu and eventually go down as miscarriage happens.

The hCG levels of a blighted ovum are inconsequential and exceedingly variable, since with each passing day, the levels decrease in a rapid fashion.
