The greatest comeback in a Major League Baseball game was completed by the Cleveland Indians on a Sunday night in August of 2001. The M's were actually up by twelve twice at 12-0 and 14-2 before throwing the game away 15-14 in the eleventh inning to the Indians.

The greatest comeback in Major League Baseball is the 2004 comeback in the playoffs. They had lost 3 games in the best of 4 series, including a 19-8 loss in the 3rd game. In Game 4, they beat the Yankees, won the playoffs and the World Series ! add a comment

Some examples of great comebacks in baseball include the Orioles losing 10-1 against the Red Sox, and then coming back to win the game in the 9th, which was this year. In 2001, the Cleveland Indians beat the Mariners after being down by 12 runs, in the seventh inning.
