Hydrogen bombs devastate homes, irradiate populations, and affect an endless number of people when used. This is a subjective view. A more objective view may be that a hydrogen bomb is merely a quantum chemical reaction in which the basic structure of an atom is altered. The alteration takes form in a chain reaction.

During the initial explosion an immense pressure wave (sometimes referred to as a blast) causes destruction of all exposed structures in the immediate area. A huge amount of heat is also released, resulting in incineration of surrounding material. Radiation will also be present in the surrounding area for many years.
