Some issues with metal swing sets include their conduction of electricity from downed poles or lightening, that they are prone to wear at screws and that they could be sharp.

The down falls to metal swings are that they tend to rust. Rust can cause bad cuts and infection if they cut the skin.

They can rust, where plastic ones do not. They have sharp edges on the ends of the tubes, and if the caps fall out, then this creates a safety hazard.
