There may have been issued a bench warrant. You defaulted before the court, and so committed a crime. You may be in contempt of court, you may need to pay a fine. If there is a bench warrant, if you get pulled over for a traffic offense, you may find yourself arrested. Check with the court and relieve your mind.

If you ignored a summons, there is probably an arrest warrant. If the summons was for committing an offense, there is probably now an arrest warrant and a bond, but there may also be a new charge for "failure to appear. " If it's a subpoena you ignored, you can be held in contempt (in jail)until you testify.

If you fail to appear after being served with a summons or subpoena for testimony, the court may issue a contempt action for failure to appear. This can include a monetary fine and jail time. The state can ask the court for the case to be postponed until you do show up or get arrested by law enforcement.

If the summons had been duly served and even then one fails to appear before a court to testify in a given case, then the next time the honorable court may issue bailable warrants.
