A society in which a group of people or an individual decide to help another member or groups of the accepted community as the primary way of establishing value to their effort. In other words, they do not exchange money or barter in exchange for their effort. They do it to ensure the survival of their group as a whole.

A cooperative society has an open membership. It is democratic. Capital is from the contributions of members. Its main purpose is to provide services and quality products to members.

Most people living in a cooperative society will be compliant with its aims. In return for working with the group everyone is included in the work and welfare program.
