What are the causes of blood in the urine?

My doctor said I had blood in my urine.

A severe bladder infection can cause blood in the urine. An injury to the kidneys can do the same. Kidney stones and serious conditions such as kidney cancer can make the urine bloody.

Many things can cause this including cancer, kidney stones, kidney infection, bladder infections and injury. Your doctor can do many tests to determine the cause.

There could be an infection of the bladder, uninary tract or the kidneys. Kidney stones can cause blood in the urine as well.

Blood in the urine could be from many different causes, it could be menstrual blood or it could be the sign of a kidney stone.

Excessive exercise can cause some blood in urine and stool, especially a biking or spin class. Sitting on a bike seat for a long time during hour long cardio sessions can irritate that area.
