The gloves need to be made of either natural rubber or a synthetic rubber compound. Latex is also a choice, however it is not as durable as rubber.

I would choose either rubber or synthetic rubber since rubber blocks the electrical flow, but I rubber does not tend to be as durable so buy many pairs.

The gloves need to be made of either natural rubber or a synthetic rubber compound. Latex is also a choice, however it is not as durable as rubber. The construction of the gloves must be a minimum thickness of .05 mm. This is lowest level of protection allowable and provides protection for up to 500 volts.

The best gloves are hot work gloves that are actually rated for the voltage you are working it. They consist of an insulator pair and a pair of leather gloves.
