If you are 59 years old, you will receive survivor benefits from Social Security which equal 100% of what your deceased spouse was getting, assuming you were married for at least 10 years prior to his death. This is also true if he was receiving regular retirement benefits and not disability benefits.

You would get a certain per cent of his yearly income I believe. You would have to take his death certificate by the social security administrative office and they would help you through the process. I think you would get a certain per cent from his salary. I am not sure the per cent though.

This depends on many factors. Generally speaking, the surviving spouse will get substantially less than when the person was alive. Consult with your nearest Social Security Administration Administration (SSA) office, which can be located online or in the phone book. THey can give you a very specific answer.

Social Security does not pay out any benefits for when your spouse dies sadly. When my father passed away (he was on SSI) my mom did not receive a dime.

You would not get any disability benefits upon death of a spouse. But if you have children to raise, you would get benefits for them. Also, at your full retirement age, you would receive full retirement benefits.

When your spouse dies, you get a pension known as Spouse's Allowance pension whose amount depends from the country and government providing this social aid.
