Performing two procedures at once reduces risk of infection and the recorvery time as opposed to having procedures done separately. Also, costs may be reduced by doing two at once.

All surgeries carry inherent risks. Many of these risks, such as infection or a reaction to the medications used, occur for every operation. Thus, if you can combine procedures into a single operation, it is safer. It is also likely to be more economical.
