There are few benefits of film accept with large format. Large format like 4x5 provides a resolution that is impossible with any normal film camera. The quality is amazing. But comparing 35mm to digital, film has few benefits. In general it has a higher dynamic range, but no other quality advantages. Digital surpasses it in almost every way.

With a digital camera, you can see your photographs immediately. No processing cost is involved. Just upload them to your computer and start editing immediately. Many digital storage and printing sites offering affordable prints of only the pictures you want. Digital's only disadvantage is the need for a computer!

Digital cameras are definitely more economical. Once you have taken a picture, it can be deleted if it is not to your liking. There are no film development costs and no need to buy new film every time you have reached your picture quota. Good quality digital cameras will provide you with sharper image quality.

Digital cameras are awesome because you see your picture right away. You don't have spend time or money on developing. But film cameras can be awesome too. There is just a look to the film that you can't get in digital. Developing your own film can be fun too.

Film cameras require film which is becoming obsolete, although digital cameras do not record the same level of detailed image.

Film does not have pixels and does not pixelate when enlarged. Digital cameras have less waste, because there is no film lost in taking hundreds of pictures and deleting them all.
