Turtles can contract a flu virus, they also get eye infections and they can get fungal infections and diseases that effect their shells and are quite deadly. Most turtles carry a high level of samonella and can pass it to people and can have the disease themselves. Turtles are also prone to respitory disease.

Salminello posioning is the most common disease a turtle can give to a human. This is becuase the bactria can build up under a turtles neck and legs. This is why years ago, tiny turtles were forbidden in most states. High ammonia levels can kill aquarium turtles.
