Symptoms of dental decay include sensitivity to cold, (ice, cold drinks) sweet, (sweets softdrinks) and sometimes hot. Sometimes you may actually notice a cavitation in your tooth. Being able to describe the type of pain you are having will help your dental professional assess what is wrong with your tooth.

The tooth will hurt. You will notice pains more related to heat and cold. Occasionally you will be able to see the cavity as a small hole with a darker spot behind it. These are a few symptoms.

Usually you can see the cavity in your tooth. If the tooth is not white all the way around it there is one. But it can cause pain or sensitivity.
