Acetone and isopropyl alcohol easily dissolve most foam, but they make tons of fumes. If this is in your house, hire a professional, or else your house will smell - badly.

You need protective gloves and goggles and breathing mask these will minimize risk of irritation to your eye or skin or breathing. You will also need acetone and a non-abrasive sponge. Soak area of foam with sponge it will soften and dissolve foam.

Purchase some acetone, from a hardware store, put on protective clothing (Gloves glasses), use a non-abrasive sponge and wipe away the foam.

In order to remove foam insulation from aluminum I would suggest first freezing the insulation. Apply dry ice, or liquid nitrogen to the area of the foam to be removed. Wait ten seconds, and then carefully tap with a hammer and chisel. Do not be overzealous with the hammer as you may incur damage to the aluminum beneath it.

I have had the best luck with this using first a knife to get the big peices and then a very fine grit sandpaper to clean the rest off. Some never dull after to help polish the aluminum and remove the fine peices of foam leftover.
