First of all, a reciprocal is basically the flipped form of a number. For example, lets take the fraction 7/3. The reciprocal would be 3/7. 3/2 would be 2/3. 3, which is the same as 3/1, would be 1/3. Another way to look at it is by using the equation (number)x(reciprocal)=1 and sove for the reciprocal.

A reciprocal in math is when you switch the numerator and the denominator of two fractions. Examples would be: 2/8 and 8/2, or 9/7 and 7/9.

this can be demonstarted by taking a fraction, for example. a half, this is 1/2. the reciprocal of 1/2= 2/1 which gives you 2. when you take a three quaters. 3/4 = 4/3
