Make sure and be consistent in teaching no matter how you teach them. Praise the child when they have accomplished going potty when they do. It takes a lot of patients on both parts. It takes some time, but be consistent and make sure to praise when the child goes potty correctly.

You should wait until your toddler is showing signs that he or she is telling you they are wet. Also do away with diapers during the day to start.

Toddlers will potty train when they are ready. Buy a small potty and keep it in your bathroom so your child can sit on the potty when you do. Keep it fun and don't force the issue. Reward for correct use of the potty and keep things positive.

one thing to do is to start using cloth diapers. it lets the child feel the wetness or dirtiness more so than an absorbent disposable diaper would. they would realize that it feels yucky and uncomfortable. of course use disposables at night, or at least pullups, but using cloth diapers or underwear should help thru out the day.
