My pekingese has had seizures and I use Bachs Rescue Remedies to treat the symptoms. Bachs remedies are an herbal product made from plant and flower extracts. You can find them online or at a good health food store. If the health food store has an herbalist on site they will help yo choose other herbal remedies as well.

The dog's condition should be diagnosed by a veterinary surgeon and the treatment approved before you begin. If you wish to go ahead with herbal remedies then a mixture of scutellaria lateriflora or mad dog skullcap, gelsemium and jimsonweed will be the suggested remedy.

It is not a good idea to try holistic remedies. Follow your vets advice, seizures can kill your dog and are very serious.

Typically seizures are a direct cause of magnesium under nourishment. Possible remedies are prescriptions, injection or powder form and can be prescribed for a week to a month.

Since canine seizures are commonly caused by chemicals within dog food, one holistic approach to help address this would be to prepare dog food at home and rely less on store-bought brands with preservatives and other potentially hazardous ingredients.

That is all fine and good, but my dog has seizures and she takes phenobarbitol 3x a day. I would be afraid to use holistic for this problem.
